Our Surgical Care Guidelines outline essential pre-operative preparation, day-of-surgery expectations, and post-operative recovery requirements. These guidelines are designed to optimize patient safety, surgical outcomes, and recovery while ensuring clear communication between patients, surgeons, and our clinical team.

PRE-OP GUIDELINES

Please review carefully before your big day

  • Carefully review and follow all pre-operative instructions provided by your surgeon

  • Do not eat or drink anything for 8 hours prior to surgery, including gum, mints, or smoking

  • Arrange for an adult to accompany you and remain with you for the first 24 hours following surgery

  • You will receive a confirmation call from our team prior to your scheduled procedure; if you miss the call, please contact us as soon as possible to avoid any delays or cancellations

  • Failure to comply with pre-operative instructions may result in delay or cancellation of surgery

SURGERY DAY GUIDELINES

What you can expect on surgery day

  • Please arrive on time with a valid photo ID and insurance card, if applicable

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing suitable for post-operative recovery

  • Do not wear jewelry, makeup, lotions, or contact lenses

  • Bring any garments, medications, or supplies recommended by your surgeon

  • Accepted forms of payment include credit or debit card, or cashier’s check (no personal checks)

  • Patients will be discharged via wheelchair at the designated patient pick-up area

POST-OP GUIDELINES

Plan in advance for a smooth & restful recovery

  • You will be closely monitored by our recovery nursing staff following anesthesia

  • Recovery time varies depending on the procedure performed and type of anesthesia used

  • You will be discharged once cleared by your physician and recovery team

  • A responsible adult must be present to drive you home and remain with you for 24 hours after surgery

  • Follow all post-operative instructions provided by your surgeon to support proper healing
